Event: Pastors Luncheon Meeting
Dangerous Calling: The Unique Temptations of Pastoral Ministry in the Local Church ...For all of the excitement and privilege of pastoral ministry in the local church, it is important to remember that ministry with, to and for the Body of Christ is accompanied by a unique set of obstacles and temptations. Successful, God-honoring, productive pastoral ministry in the church is never just a matter of mastering the requisite body of information and possessing the right set of skills. Pastoral ministry in the local church is always shaped by the condition of your heart. What are the issues that are at the heart of ministry struggle and failure? What are the protections that need to be built into the life of every pastor. How do we assure that the message of the transforming grace of Jesus Christ is not only operating in the lives of those being ministered to, but in the one doing ministry as well?

Pastors' Conference - Dangerous Calling: The Unique Temptations of Pastoral Ministry in the Local Church
Main Conference Schedule: Thursday from 6:30 PM through Saturday - 12:30 PM
Theme: The Groaning Cosmos: Sin, Suffering and the Gospel...The decomposition of the human experience is upon us. Creation has been subjected to futility. Holiness, love, joy, peace, patience, self-control, and contentment daily give way to perversion, selfish ambition, depression, anxiety, anger, and greed. An eternal groaning envelopes the cosmos as a Gospel-induced labor has been initiated that will ultimately annihilate the pains of sin and suffering while giving birth to the eternal life for which all God's children were created. Until the delivery is fully realized in the resurrection of the saints, believers are called to fully live for the glory of One through the Work of One.

Topic: Forever: Why You Can’t Live Without It …The Bible assures us that God has placed eternity in our hearts. It tells us we are created for pleasure, wired for joy—all with God at the center. But in a world that is broken and suffering, it’s easy to forget this, living instead with a pack-it-all-in mentality, loading up the here and now with expectations that will only be fulfilled in eternity. Fortunately, we don’t have to live frustrating, disappointing lives. Instead, we can take heart, realizing that life doesn’t feel right because it isn’t right. It’s not meant to be—not yet anyway. Paul David Tripp will point out that having an eternity perspective will enable us to live for something bigger than ourselves and larger than this moment. No longer trapped in the shrunken kingdom of “right here, right now,” we will be able to lead lives of greater significance and peace. Tripp rehabilitates the notion of an afterlife, not as some vague, ethereal place in which we will someday reside, but as a living, robust reality that Scripture promises.

Event: Rezolution Church Leader's Day
Topic: Hell and Heaven
For: This day conference is for pastors and church leaders. Join other pastors and lay-folk for a rich time of expository preaching and Q & A with Paul Tripp and Rick Holland, as well as God-glorifying times of corporate worship in song
Schedule: Thursday - 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Paul Tripp's Sessions - Introduction: Most of us find it hard if not impossible to imagine living forever. Part of the reason for our difficulty is that Western culture has progressively moved toward a worldview devoid of eternity. We find it hard to believe in anything that contradicts our cultural point of view. Hence we have moved away from any widely-held belief in an afterlife, a belief designed to strengthen our faith and improve our lives. Without eternity, our picture of life is like a jigsaw puzzle missing half the pieces. This void has had an enormous impact on how we think about ourselves and the struggles that we daily face.
The shift has been subtle, but seismic in its impact. The movement away from a biblical view of life, coupled with the materialism of our modern scientific culture, has affected the way we think about who we are and what is important. Forever can’t be found in popular media. Forever doesn’t exist in the university classroom. Forever doesn’t shape business or politics. Forever no longer influences the hopes and dreams of the average family. The larceny of forever shapes our lives more than we realize.

Event: Rezolution Weekend Conference ... Last year was launched the Rezolution Conference.
The goal was simple—to motivate a new generation to live a life of unswerving commitment to Jesus Christ. Jonathan Edwards has been a historical model for us. At the age of 19 he planted his life in the bedrock of God's glory. Consequently, he generated 70 resolutions for living a life of resolve, a life completely devoted to God and His glory. This year's Weekend Conference begins on Friday night and continues through all day Saturday. We have focused our theme on ETERNITY - Heaven & Hell. There has been much in the media lately that contradicts the biblical view of Heaven & Hell, so the messages will focus on this topic and our response as young people. One of this year's speakers, Rick Holland, has this to say about their RESOLVED sister conference in the USA. "I am more convinced than ever that the world will respond to men and women who are resolved. And I am even more confident that this kind of life will please our Savior. The result will be a life that matters. A life full of meaning. A life that transcends the troubles of this world." Join us in September as we realign our resolve... for Him.

Topic: Dangerous Calling: The Unique Temptations of Pastoral Ministry in the Local Church...For all of the excitement and privilege of pastoral ministry in the local church, it is important to remember that ministry with, to and for the Body of Christ is accompanied by a unique set of obstacles and temptations. Successful, God-honoring, productive pastoral ministry in the church is never just a matter of mastering the requisite body of information and possessing the right set of skills. Pastoral ministry in the local church is always shaped by the condition of your heart. What are the issues that are at the heart of ministry struggle and failure? What are the protections that need to be built into the life of every pastor? How do we assure that the message of the transforming grace of Jesus Christ is not only operating in the lives of those being ministered to, but in the one doing ministry as well?

September 30 - October 1, 2011
Event Topic: Forever: Why You Can't Live Without It...The Bible assures us that God has placed eternity in our hearts.

Event: For the Sake of the Gospel Conference ..."The gospel . . . humbles and affirms us at the same time, since, in Christ, each of us is simultaneously just, and a sinner still. At the same time, we are more flawed and sinful than we ever dared believe, yet we are more loved and accepted than we ever dared hope." - The Gospel Coalition, Theological Vision of Ministry
Host: Greater Columbus Gospel Coalition
Topic – Nowism of the Gospel - Description: People tend to have a gap in the middle of the Gospel. We tend to understand salvation past, the forgiveness we’ve been given in Christ, and we tend to understand salvation future, the eternity that we will have with Christ, but we are often confused about the present benefits of the work of Christ in the here and now. The Gospel calls us to believe not only in life after death, but in life before death. A quality of existence that will not be possible apart from the present transforming grace of Christ. When you understand the nowism of the Gospel it radically changes the way you approach the normal situations and relationships of your daily life.
